Cure Acne Scars

Acne, or in Acne Vulgaris in medical jargon, is a skin condition characterized by inflammation of nodules usually in the face, neck, upper chest and back commonly called as pimples, blemishes, zits or spots. Acne largely affects pubescent individuals where approximately 85% of adolescents have them. But on most occasions, acne disappears or relatively diminishes upon surpassing puberty stage. Severe cases of acne oftentimes lead to having a permanent acne scar resulting to several psychological problems such as having lack of self-confidence and low self-esteem. Thus, attention and proper care must be given to acne problems to avoid obtaining an acne scar.

Unfortunately, there are a group of people who acquire acne scar even when attention and proper care is devoted to their acne condition. On the onset of acne scar, it should be immediately treated through various dermatological means to reduce its long-term effects such as permanent visibility and increase in size.

Some common dermatological means on how an acne scar can be treated are dermabrasion, laser therapy and chemical therapy. Dermabrasion is done by sanding the skin to remove or lessen acne scar. An advanced method of dermabrasion, called microdermabrasion uses a much less invasive method of sanding the skin. Laser therapy is done by transmitting laser pulses to affected area to promote skin regeneration. Chemical therapy is done by using safe chemicals to peel of dead skin and just like laser therapy, promote skin regeneration.
