Simple Cloth Diapers
A Cloth Diaper is the ancestor of the Disposable Diaper that is popular nowadays, which was used by babies a few years back. A Cloth Diaper is made of soft, absorbent and natural strands of fiber specifically cotton. This kind of diaper can be used again after it has been put to laundry where it is washed with water and light detergent soap. The common color of a Cloth Diaper is white which indicates and emphasizes cleanliness which is what parents want to surround their babies with.
Traditionally, a Cloth Diaper is used by folding the fabric into a rectangle shape then folding it in the middle creating an hour glass shape. Then, the diaper is placed in the baby’s bottom where the narrow part is placed in between the baby’s legs. The side of the Cloth Diaper is fastened using a diaper clip which is more baby-friendly compared with a sharp and pointed safety pin.
Proper maintenance of a Cloth Diaper makes it possible to last for many generations. Oftentimes, some of the cloth diapers that the first born child has used are passed down even to the youngest child. This shows that long before, the use of cloth diapers reflected practicality, safety, and appeal to the natural surroundings.
